I knew some of the teachings were wrong. I remember as we sand songs about he harvest time, I thought, 'this is wrong.' Then they changed the teaching about the sheep and the goats and I'd never even been taught it. I thought, 'who on earth ever believed we were in the time when the sheep and goats were being judged?'

But what i didn't realise was that many of the elders were actors and that somethings were said to deliberately confuse and baffle and would never get changed.

Beware what you are working on, or you might end up on the Governing Body.

Some people don't change unless things affect them personally.

On the other hand if you are an advertiser and can make people feel the lack of something, you can get them to want things they don't need. How many of us felt we ought to put in a report with the number of hours we had done on the ministry, when scripturally there was no need?

And how may decided it would be better to knock on doors of people who weren't interested rather than help the sick, the poor, the lonely and the widow etc?

The Watchtower organisation has set itself up as an educational authority which lords it over others. It dispenses priviledges, and hold graduations. Where in the Bible does Jesus hold a graduation ceremony? Watchtower hierachy decides who will become the new elite, it decides who should be looked up to. And as Sigmund Freud's nephew pointed out, as he established what we call PR, you don't need to bother about the little people. You only need to control the minds of the leaders because all the others will follow. And one of the main tools in the tool box is glamour.

Oh we'd get told things like this

I was baptised in 1992, so I was a newbie to some of those older teachings. I was talking to one today who was brought up in this man-trap for Christians cult and he told me how he spoke to an elder and said, 'we are bringing people in through the front door then they go straight out the back door. It's all wrong. Why are people leaving?' The elder had no answer for him.

Sounds like elder's wife (in your comment) was trying to warn you but she was not allowed to be open with you. I remember the very clever comment of a District Overseer's wife. Regarding the organisation she said, 'respect it for what it is but don't take it too seriously.'

Thank you Finkelstein. It wasn't until that 2005 talk that I realised something was so seriously wrong with their doctrine that it was a deal-breaker.

I had never understood their interpretation of presence. I understood about the 1914 calculation and was skeptical and challenged this elder and at least one other on it while I was still studing. I feel I was misled when the elder referred to in the video told me that 'if the GB have got anything wrong, they will correct it.'

Well he didn't tell me WHEN they'd correct it. Nor did he tell me that if I wrote to them pointing out a serious doctrinal error, they'd neither acknowledge they were wrong nor reply to me. I'd just get told, 'wait on Jehovah and don't talk to anyone about this.'

After this event in 2005/6, I found Ray Franz's website online and wrote to him about what had happened to me. He helped me to understand what was going on.

The Jehovah's Witnesses religion is a pretentious fraud.

yup that's right the jws religion is a pretentious fraud orchestrated by men running their own religious publishing house.. these men cultivated a semblance of power around themselves through their own propagation of being chosen by god or being more righteous than other christian leaders by their self supporting acclaim that they have truer and more accurate bible interpretations.

another known fact is these top leading men were not academically trained bible scholars.

the first leading executive writer of the wts was a professional clothing salesman/ businessman.

Hi Smiddy - just saw your comment to me. How you pronounce the name of the God of Abraham depends on phonetics. For instance the name John, Ian, Jan, Evan, Ivan are all the same name. I think the J or Y issue comes in due to the German/English translations. Ju or Yu are very similar. Regarding V or W - the W in German is actually V.

In English if you say O, you can hear the W. Maybe in German the sound is OV.

When I've heard some rabbis pronounce the W in Hebrew I've hear them use the V sound rather than W.

On the subject of phonetics Ts can become Ds. Bs can become Vs, Ks can become Gs etc.

But the identity of the God of Abraham remains the same however you pronounce His name.

Leading Watchtower people may not be scholars. You could say they are beyond scholars.They are psychologists, sociologists, rocket scientists and actors roled into one. Their stupidity is that they use all this to try to cover over self-evident lies by confusing people.

By reading the Bible and comparing its words to what they are saying, the lies eventually become clear to you.

Then, if you are concerned about sticking to what the Bible really says and challenge their authority, you get thrown out.

But not everything they teach is wrong and you have to be careful not to identify Jehovah with them because they'd love you to do that. It would be a victory for them, is as you leave, you abandon your faith in Jesus Christ and his Father, Jehovah.

Hi Blondie, even the Bible doesn't say October. It was the 2nd month, Ziv, which corresponds to April/May time. See Gen 7:11 and compare to 1 Ki 6:1.

But you easily change 2 into 8 by changing the calendar :) So suddendly Ziv becomes Tishrei. Which is exactly what they do in order to say the 2nd month is October.

Sir82, you also need to go to a Kingdom Hall and give a talk. People don't just go to listen and be convinced, some go to enjoy a priviledged position and enjoy minor celebrity status. For this you need a Kingdom Hall.

I ask you to spare a thought for the poor elder who went to the Kingdom Hall to give his talk only to find he couldn't find the Hall. Why? Because it had been sold and knocked down.

Also, if you are going to cast Christians out of the synagogues, you need a synagogue.
